Meal Plan Day 21Posted in : Meal Plans on by : admin
A friend of mine laughed when she saw my posting for Halloween Cake Pops. She said “that doesn’t exactly fit on your blog does it? I mean you’re always about healthy eating and nutritious meals, what’s with the Cake Pops?” I told her that I believe in treats once and a while and Halloween sure falls into that category. She then threw down the gauntlet and said “I bet you can’t build that into a meal plan for losing weight.” Well I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge and this was no exception. I said, “I’ll take that bet and I won’t even do two meal replacement shakes that day (which I always know I can do to make almost anything work) and it won’t be full of celery .” We shook hands and I came back to my office to see what I was up against. Since I hadn’t ever put the Cake Pops into Daily Burn (I really didn’t want to know their calorie content) I thought that’s where I better start. I’d load them in first and then build the day around the one Cake Pop. It really wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. One Cake Pop has 217 Calories, 7 fat grams and 38 carbs (ok so that’s a little high). But that left me a lot of calories to work with. Since I had just loaded the Chipolte Shrimp over Quinoa that seemed like a natural for dinner with some asparagus. For breakfast I did my meal replacement shake with just water and didn’t add any fruit. I saved that for my snacks. For lunch I had a small grilled chicken breast, some broccoli and a cucumber/tomato salad (not celery). And wah-lah a full day under 1400 calories and a balance of fats, carbs and proteins. So there you go. Once again it just proves with a little planning you can fit almost anything into your Daily Meal Plan (even cake pops) and be successful in you weight loss goals.
